Big Bike Ride #43 101 Things in 1001 Days

Six months ago I broke my hip and it seems like it's taken an age to get anywhere near normal. I wanted to do something that would be a milestone for me.

Last weekend we enter the Big Bike Ride at Woburn Abbey in aid if the NSPCC. Although I only did two laps, about five miles, I was happy I managed it without too much effort, except that really steep hill!

#41 Visit Col's Parents

It's been about two years since I've been to see the in-laws. It's not that I don't get on with them but Colin's job has meant he travels during the week and the last thing he wants is to spend 3 hours driving up the motorway at the weekend, so they come to us.
Last week both had some time off work so we had a long weekend in Yorkshire. We travelled up on my birthday and I took this shot of the Corus steelworks at sunset.

#67 Make all family and friends birthday cards

Cake Card

I'm still ticking along with this task. March is a busy month but I'm enjoying all the cafting. This one is for a friend.

#88 Go to the theatre twice

#88 Go to the Theatre Twice

This week I went to see Waiting for Godot at the Theatre MK. It's not a play that I was familiar with but I enjoyed it, not least because the cast was fantastic. Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Ronald Pickup and Simon Callow.

I can now tick this task off the list but I will be making an effort to go to our fabulous theatre more often.

#8 make a scrapbook for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary

101 Things in 1001 Days #8

My parents will celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary in June 2009. I've decided to put my two favourite hobbies of photography and crafting together and make a scrapbook for them.

I've started off by getting some old photographs of me and my siblings when we were very young. I've never done scrapbooking before so it'll be a learning curve.

#31 Open a cash ISA

ISA

Not the most exciting of tasks but this is a means to an end. I've never been very good at saving and I'm hoping to change that. I really want to upgrade my camera to a Nikon D300. I'm aiming to save a £1 for each day of the 1001 project, plus £1 for every task completed and save the money I would have spent on horse riding lessons.

#88 Go the the theatre twice (1/2)

Theatre

This week I went to Milton Keynes Theatre to see The Witches of Eastwick with a couple of friends from work. The showed starred Marti Pellow of Wet, Wet, Wet fame and he has was very good.

The Milton Keynes Theatre was opened in 1999 after £19.6 million was awarded by the National Lottery. The theatre seats between 900 and 1400 people and attracts shows from the West End, either as previews or on tour.

Day One

I've never been one to set goals, hence I tend to drift through life with no solid aims or goals. The 101 things in 1001 days appealed to me as it gives more than a year to complete tasks.

So day one, I'm not sure where to start!
